Creative Fresno

Engaging creative professionals to create a stronger community

Why Creative Professionals?

Knowledge Workers Drive A Community’s Economic Success

Knowledge workers and creative professionals first determine where they want to live, and then find a job. Importance is placed on the quality of life that exists in a community, rather than on a career opportunity. Businesses, in turn, seek out communities with an educated workforce.

Economist Richard Florida has been pioneering the Creative Cities Movement, which is based on the trends of knowledge workers. He believes that technology, talent and tolerance are key factors in a community’s economic success. Creative Fresno agrees. If we don’t continue to improve on our city, we will continue to lose our best and brightest, and our local businesses will struggle to retain and attract talent.

Roll Up Your Sleeves

Creative Fresno believes everyone has the potential to be creative in his or her own way. Being creative doesn’t mean you need to be an artist, but artists are certainly welcomed. Being creative means that you embrace new ideas and alternative approaches to problem solving. Being a member of Creative Fresno will give you the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and get involved—whether you want to sit on a public policy committee, be a part of the mural walk in downtown, or just give your social life a little lift.
